Chiptunes and Trackers

Jonathan M. Guberman - Up, not North and Andrew Kilpatrick made Pianocade chiptunes synthesizer PortmanteauDevices/Pianocade - sound hardware of the Nintendo NES and Game Boy , written in C using Atmel AT90USB646, Pianocade is monophonic: only one note sounds at a time. When multiple notes are sounded simultaneously, the Pianocade arpeggiates them (switches between them quickly). Both the rate and the order of arpeggiation can be set on a per-patch basis.
► Pretty Eight Machine | Inverse Phase - Pretty Hate Machine, re-imagined in its entirety on eight different 8-bit systems, so I've named it "Pretty Eight Machine". Sound configurations include: SID/6581 (Commodore 64), POKEY (Atari 800), straight 2A03 (NES), AY/SCC+ (MSX+Metal Gear 2 or Snatcher cartridge), SN76489 (Sega Master System), 2A03+VRC6 (Famicom+Castlevania 3 cartridge), LR35902 (Game Boy), and OPLL (MSX-MUSIC or Japanese Sega Master System).

Using rock band drums for music creation.

My friend let me borrow the rock band 2 drumkit. But my kids are a bit too young to play still. I wish there were a way to just associate sounds and allow the kids to play around with creating music. Because the drum kit functions like a std. controller and MS gives us XNA it should be possible. Wheres the app at? Looking....
