Ok, so in the past I've setup my servers to send SMS messages when the system goes down and comes back up. Lately I've not had SMS so I haven't been thinking about it.... but since I got the new phone and a bunch of SMS message allowances... I'm revisiting. If you want to be able to send SMS by email just use the following addresses: T-Mobile:phonenumber@tmomail.net Virgin Mobile:phonenumber@vmobl.com Cingular:phonenumber@cingularme.com Sprint:phonenumber@messaging.sprintpcs.com Verizon: phonenumber@vtext.com Nextel: phonenumber@messaging.nextel.com where phonenumber = your 10 digit phone number Apparently, you can also use the service Teleflip.com which basically figures out which provider to send to automagically.
